Reduction of Water Needs on Turf Grass

OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY TURF GRASS STUDY

The effectiveness of Root-Zone*(GLK) as a plant water reducing agent on Monocotyledon plants was demonstrated by an experiment showing that treated grass stayed green for up to 20 days while withholding water.

Palmer Rye grass and Red Fescue, were developed from seed on trays and water was withheld for 20 days before normal watering was resumed. The sods with water only turned brown and did not survive

*(GLK was the University Test Number for Root-Zone)
